Our Mission

SVCDC Annual Report
The Southwest Vermont Career Development Center is committed to career and lifelong learning to prepare secondary and post secondary students for career and lifelong learning in a rapidly changing world.

The SVCDC is located in Historic Bennington, Vermont. It serves high school and adult students from the southwestern region of Vermont and adjacent New York and Massachusetts. We serve high school students from: Serving: Arlington, Bennington, Dorset, Glastenbury, Manchester, No. Bennington, Pownal, Readsboro, Sandgate, Searsburg, Shaftsbury, Sunderland, Twin Valley, and Woodford. We currently offer twenty technical programs and related classes that occupy our state of the art facility by day. In the afternoons, evenings and online, a wide variety of adult education offerings are also available.

the southwest vermont career development centerWe serve students from the Bennington County region, and currently have 20 programs that offer two years of study, and many pre-tech exploratory courses. Each of our programs has Industry Recognized Credentials and/or Dual Enrollment Credits that may be achieved with successful completion of these programs. Institutions that are currently participating include: Community College of Vermont, Vermont Technical College, and Rochester Institute of Technology, Paul Smiths College and Hudson Valley Community College.

In addition to our daytime programs, we offer an Evening Division for Adult Education as well as Online Learning. High quality instruction is available from professionals in regional Business and Industry. Adults are welcome to apply for daytime technical programs. A Vermont resident adult without a high school diploma is a secondary student and is eligible for tuition to be paid by their school district. Adults with high school diplomas will be charged a tuition. Financial aid may be available. Contact the Adult Education Office at 447-3596.
